Actually, although using a different internal drive than the FCP drive is a good idea, I now believe the problem is a defect in FCP 6 regarding the “NOW” button for captures. If you fail to hit “esc” before the end of you timecode, the video and audio sync will be out of sync.

I believe the problem was not using an internal drive other than the one Final Cut is located.

It was 24pa. When I try a 29.97 timeline the sound is still not syncing with video.

I tried some things and no luck, it seems the problem starts after I render the timeline. Once the project is rendered every move of the playhead requires 10 minutes of cursor process time.

Thanks, all I need to do is find a good transcoder. I used iskysoft to make the clips so I’ll start with them.

-Whoops, you make it sound like bad thing, is there an easy way move media to another internal drive and save the cache?
