I imported a quicktime file, created a layer, used roto brush to create a selection in each frame, applied the smart blur, rendered the mask, put the layer in the composition, adjusted transparency, and began rendering the composition.
I guess I dropped my veil. The timeline shows the current segment progress with a red line and the overall with brackets. There is about 15 seconds left. I thought maybe I was missing something like a digital progress time.
Would it be okay to interrupt the rendering process to change the preference settings while leaving AE open and then continue rendering by hitting the space bar in AE?
What do you mean by “simply use the footage that has already been imported into Final Cut.” Do you mean the timeline that contains my edited footage, that could be edited send back and forth to CS5 using the script?
Not lazy but cheap maybe. I use the camera as a deck and I don’t want to wear it out, so I capture the entire tape. In the past I used TC limits for the entire tape and it worked fine, but this time I needed to get all of the lead in I could get so I had to begin using “NOW.” It works fine, but you need to sit on it to make sure you stop it manually before it gets to the TC end. Thanks for your experience and explanation. I think you hit it on the head when you said the camera reverts to 29.97. I think it does that right at the end when it runs out of TC. Thanks.
