So you have a clip on the left |||||||||||||||||||] [||||||||||||||||||| and a clip on the right, both 6 frames apart (by taking 3 frame on each side)? And then…

I don’t think he is asking why the clip does not appear correct, but why does FCP reject an attempt to establish an effect. Adding frames assuming you can add an effect and is only relevant to placement.

“Over 5,000 years ago Confucius wrote: ‘If you are toiling away, you have changed nothing and FCP heads South on you, [starts behaving in strange ways] then it is time to trash your FCP Preferences.’ ”

I don’t think the above quote was inspired by Confucius, but rather an observation by Dze-kung while rambling about south Kh

The firewire drives have worked fine until recently, but I did move the media to an internal non-system drive and had the same problem. On either, external and internal drives, the problem does not exist when I play the timeline to tape. My only question now is whether the quality of produced by running/playing the timeline to tape is the same as the “Print to Video” process?

I did everything except the fit to window. Is this important?

By doing this, to produce masters, is the quality the same as the “Print to Video” process?
