I just found this article by Joel Hooton which looks exactly like what I’m after but there is no help as to how to implement these expressions. https://library.creativecow.net/articles/hooton_joel/synch_video_to_audio.php

Do I use these in the time remapping expressions control like Dan Ebberts has in this similar post:https://library.creativecow.net/articles/ebberts_dan/audio_sync.php

I a little unsure how to rig the expressions to my parameters that I want to effect.

Excellent solution! ….almost!

The only issue now is that the blurred lines are flickering a bit. They’re smooth and crisp but they’re waving and flickering up and down. I’ve blended the Blue and Green (blur UV) to smooth the lines. This is my first time using “reduce DV blockyness’ so I might be missing something?

Anything I can do to sort this out?

So there isn’t anyway to get a light from a precomp to function in a main comp and interact with other 3d objects?

I’m trying to make a top-down view of a car with head lights interact with other cars with head lights. In short, I was planning on making one precomp with the base car with its lights attached and then comping numerous of these complete cars together so that I can move them around and have the pre-attached head lights illuminate each other.

Is this possible?

This is after an export using the “current settings” from FCP playing it on my mac full res in quicktime – still same problem. To double check, after another export I checked it in full res on my 32″ monitor…still no change!

Thanks Dave, but I already have the field dominance set to none so isn’t that a progressive timeline?

Although the preset setting says 1080i I have now changed it to custom 1080p with no field dominance (again) and we’re still not getting any better.

I’ve just tried rendering out a upper field version and tried that and it looks exactly the same.

…still stuck!

Thanks for the reply. Just tried that and I’m getting the same jittery lines around the edges where it should be smooth.

Any other ideas?
