If you don’t have 5.1.2 then load a clip into
Cinema Tools and try reversing the pulldown there.
(I highly recommend 5.1.2) -

Maybe find some stock footage already in 24p?

I copy each P2 card to its own folder.
The CONTENTS and LASTCLIP.txt need to be in each new folder.
Then in FCP 5.1.2 you load up each P2 folder.
You will see one clip in each folder that will say spanned.
You only need to import one or the other. -
We shoot with HVX200 and edit DVCPRO HD in FCP, we are providing
a major university with digital signage using AdTec servers….
We can produce High Def .TS streams encoded from HD .m2v files.
These units don’t miss a beat and I am getting much better
results than computers playing WMV HD -
If you shot 24p not 24pA or 24pN and want to
edit in a 30p (29.97) timeline then there should
be no issues.
The removed advanced pulldown is only for
footage shot 24pA….
If you did shoot 24pA, then yes you need
to remove the pull-down and edit 720 24p.
It is hard to diagnose what is going on without
seeing the footage…..
Typically, we shoot 720 24pN and edit 720 24p….
Most of our work goes to DVD or the web and these
settings work great.
Even if we have to shoot and deliver a spot on BetaSP
we still edit and shoot with the above settings….
FCP will add the pullback when you print to tape. -
You could post one of the clips somewhere so that
we could all take a look…
Do you use the easy set-up for 720 30p???
Make sure you keep the framerate at 29.97…
Is it possible you are dropping frames?
What is your harddrive set-up? -
On the HVX recording at 1080 24p, 24pA or 30p is the same
as far as time on the cards.
Now editing at 24p and encoding for 24p
will save space on the DVD.
Try a test…
30p will look more video like…
For best results shoot 1080 24pA
and remove the pulldown when importing.
