It shouldn’t be a problem as long as the dpi is high enough. I have sent out PSD files for print before on small jobs and thay have been fine. Now, ideally, you should create your layouts in a program such as InDesign or Quark or even Illustrator. Your printer may just be playing it safe. But your text should be fine.

Hard to say. But you can achieve a lot of nice effects by duplicating the photo layer and changing the opactiy modes like “overlay, softlight” etc… Try blurring the top layer or converting the layer to greyscale using the channel mixer. The list goes on and on.

Do a ‘Save As’ and choose TIF for the extension. It will save them as a sequence.

If you have Acrobat 7 you could export each frame from your PDF in to a TIF sequence. If this is something you do often it may be worth the price to purchase.

You could try using the ‘Scale’ option at 100%.

I have never heard of the “Selection Bruch’ tool before. You can modify your selection multiple ways. Below are a few:

With a selction tool active, pressing the ‘shift’ key will allow you to add to your selection and pressing the ‘alt’ key will subtract from the selection.

You could save your selection as an alpha channel or mask and edit that with any of the paint tools.

Or you could use the pen tool instead of the lasso and create a vector path that you can edit and make a selection from.

When using the Pen tool, you have the option to create a Path or Vector art. Once the Pen tool is selected, in the tool bar at the top, just underneath the Edit and Image drop down menus, you can select the Paths option (shaded square with anchors on each corner).

You can also use the Line tool. 9th icon down on right side of tool bar. Click and hold when clicking the icon to reveal all tools in that set.

Yeah, you’ll need to change the image’s pixel aspect ratio. You can do this under IMAGE/PIXEL ASPECT RATIO and change it to Square. That should do it.

    Thanks Guys.

The “Smooth Line Art” was unchecked on my Acrobat. Not sure why that wouldn’t be a default selection. It is an older version, too.
