All my project files are on a external 500GB firewire Lacie HD. The odd thing is if I choose to export the project in 10 minutes increments it burns fine. I can’t figure out how to get it to burn the full 60 minute project. For my encoding I have it set to – NTSC, 720X480, 29.97, no drop frames, lower, quality 5.0, 48KHz, 16 bit, stereo, PCM, CBR, 7.00 mbs. I hope someone can help.

I’m not at all concerned about the cost of media. So from what I have been told there’s no way I can export a 15GB clip to a standard 4.7GB DVD and maintain quality?

Blast1, the message say’s “Insufficient disc space for burning” And no, I have not tried diffrent settings. I did not want to mess around so I left everything at default. How would I know what to change the settings to and maintain excellent quality?

TClark, you’re right, I do have Roxio EZ CD and DVD Creator 6 on the system. Here’s the strange thing, I opened a 3.67GB project and exported to DVD. My “BURN” button is now accessible. So I guess there must me a problem with the 15GB clip?

Let’s get back to my original question, how and what do I do to reduce the size of the 15GB clip but also retain quality?

I’ve tried that. When I choose Export > Export to DVD and choose burn to disk my “BURN” button is grayed out. I have a blank DVD in the drive and my DVD burner is selected. Any ideas?

Thanks for the reply fellas. So sorry about the time it took me to reply, been away for a few days.

Cal, Thanks for offering the tutorials. You can email them to me.
I will be connecting the mic directly to the mic input jack. I also thought about recording it on my XL1, then importing the video and the audio then extracting the audio. Is this possible, or am I going through too much steps?
