    Hello everyone, I’m a new PP2 user and was wondering how to get a 1 hour video small enough to fit on a dvd and maintain the high quality?

    I find it amazing how movie makers can fit a 90 minute movie on a DVD and maintain the high quality.

    Thanks for your help.

    Compress to MPEG2-DVD.

    I’ve tried that. When I choose Export > Export to DVD and choose burn to disk my “BURN” button is grayed out. I have a blank DVD in the drive and my DVD burner is selected. Any ideas?

    Using the trial version? That does not support MPEG, you need the full version for that.

    I’m baffled. Both of my burners are recognized and burning is enabled, although I prefer to export to Encore and author from there. You wouldn’t be running XP64 or Vista would you?

    If your DVD burners are grayed out that means you prabably have other burning software like Roxio that took the priority of the drive. Do a search for “Can not burn a dvd” in the adobe forum and you will find how to fix it. I had the same problem and I solved it. I just can not remeber how exactly. It had something to do with upper and lower filters. It is something that can be fixed in windows.

    Another option;
    Choose the burn to folder option and then use your burning software to do the burning of the VIDEO_TS folder.

    Then TClark is probably right. Your configuration is likely confused by having Roxio or similar software installed. Either do a search for the registry fixes or use Mike’s suggestion.

    TClark, you’re right, I do have Roxio EZ CD and DVD Creator 6 on the system. Here’s the strange thing, I opened a 3.67GB project and exported to DVD. My “BURN” button is now accessible. So I guess there must me a problem with the 15GB clip?

    Let’s get back to my original question, how and what do I do to reduce the size of the 15GB clip but also retain quality?

    Thanks for all the feedback.
