    Hi Everybody

    Something related to this post.
Hello guys, I know I’m a little out of subject but I need to ask something related.

This morning I tried (for the first time, I never have worked with HDV) to digitize an HDV material shooted in a JVC GY-HD100 camera in HDV 720-24p.

I used the easy setup in FCP HDV 720P and I’m using the camera as a deck. I have the HDV option selected on the camera body.

The main problem is that FCP doesn’t recognize the camera, it keeps giving me a message “can’t initialize deck” (sort of, sorry I am in a diferent place right now).

If you can help me, please illuminate me on what I have to check.

The guys who shooted the material, used a Sony miniDV tape

Thanks in advance for the help

  • Not at all

But what is really true, is that color Key in FCP, is not as good as Keylight.

  • You are doing everything fine!

I have previously experienced very serious problems of lonf FCP renders when using QT with animation codec. Try to render without compressor (NONE).

    They have to render anyway

yes I have the luma shift that you describe, but turning off the range check doesnt solve the problem. I digitize the material in an AVID and I dont have the kind of problems.

I am still trying to figure out what is happening

    Thanks a lot
