    Hi everybody

I’m having right now a very serious problem with my FCP 4.5

I captured video using my AJAla video card, using the YPbPr Betacam 10 bit NTSC, when I playback the captured video on the viewer, everything is aparently fine but when I stop the clip all the highlight go really high and the image is burned on the white peaks.

Curious thing is that I need this material for fx work on AEffects, so I export the material with NONE compression, and the problem with the levels remain. Allthe whites go high and the image is burned.

The video levels of the original footage are very high, but no totally ilegal. whites are a little bit over 100%.

if anybody can help please I am in a hurry.

do you have Range Check enabled ? we’ve had some issues with that function … pretty much what you’re describing.
(during playback the levels are as expected, but when stopped theres a big luma shift)

if so, turn off Range Check (control z toggles it on and off)

yes I have the luma shift that you describe, but turning off the range check doesnt solve the problem. I digitize the material in an AVID and I dont have the kind of problems.

I am still trying to figure out what is happening

    Thanks a lot
