I’m running OS 10.5.8 with QT 7.6.9 with M100 v 1.7.1

I uninstalled and reinstalled just M100 and that took care of my problem, thankfully

Looks like the resource fork was saved incorrectly. I used “a better finder-attributes” to correct the creator code and type code. Files work fine now. Thanks for the zip tip. I found adobe files were incorrect as well and were changed to open in Preview. I opened them in the correct adobe app and saved them correctly.

audio does get out of Producer via firewire through a canopus advc-500
but audio gets out of FCP directly to the D455 via firewire just fine as well. Just makes me wonder if there’s some Producer code for interfacing audio to the D455 that’s a little off. I think it would be better for me if I could stay all firewire instead of converting to analog component out of the canopus. any thoughts?

Thanks Floh,

same results with simply firewire out – error 17(invalid audio signal) on the panasonic d455, playing out of Producer instead of mastering to tape with audio inputs set correctly.

Any clues on what would make a DV audio signal invalid besides 48khz rate and 2 ch 16bit mode?

I wonder if I missed a FREE update from 11.5.1 that fixes this?

This is the best editing software I have used since 1985… back in the ACE Micro era. It’s the easiest to view and easiest to use interface and the most like the Macintosh itself.

Thanks Media 100 in case you don’t hear it enough. But please don’t rest on your laurels. Please promote more sampling so people can see what they’re missing.

Producer is way faster than v8x on the G5
SW was faster than v8x on the G4

with the ability to place video or graphics on any track, and see it immediately even on a G4 it works more like FCP.

Boris is way better on M100 than the Boris in FCP unless you upgrade.

I like the ability to use the system finder to locate bins and programs instead of going in to FCP to locate them.

In my personal opinion M100 is the easiest, fastest, best designed (as far as work flow) editing software on the market. I started on m100 back in 1996 v3 or 4 I guess. I left it and used FCP for 2 years. When I discovered M100SW, I test drove to see if Media100 had a future. To my amazement the sw software worked on my G4 and sped up my editing. Now FCP takes a back seat, way back. I edit short form pieces though. I have not used m100 with the Kona hardware yet. Producer works just fine.

I’ve been using P6000 with a G4 dual 500MHZ 1gb RAM, OS 10.3.9, Media 100i, v 8.2.3 , with good results. But when I added Media 100sw (Software only version) the real fun began. I think they discontinued SW however. I can edit in SW. and export :30-2:00 .movs and play out through Media 100i.

I recently got a G5 and started using Media 100 Producer – that’s even better.

Find a G5 and edit with Media100 Producer for best results.
