Thanks. Yeah, I’ve tried using MAX2AE, and it works like a charm, from max to ae.
Any suggestions on moving camera data from AE to MAX? 3d tracking perhaps?

You’re using some kind of demo plugin that’s not registered. If you don’t know what plugin it is try switching of the different effects, by pressing the ‘f’ next to it, until the X disapeers.Hope it helps you,

Ok, if I understand you correctly…
I would:
1. Import the psd file into AE (you might want to get rid of the background color)
2. Create an comp sized adjustment layer
3. Be sure you have selected the adjustment layer, then Auto trace. This will give kind of a rough mask, so you might want to adjust it so it aligns with the edge of your logo using pen tools etc.
4. Apply stroke effect to adjustment layer, and animate this the way you want it.Also you can play around with opacity of the PSD layer, animate this to fade in, or use write on effect to reveal it, see new excellent tutorial on this.

Also tried using the Animation codec, but this still doensn’t work. The final cut machine is hooked up to an AJA IO, anyone know if it using some kind of special codec?Again, thanks to all for reading and replying!

I’m also looking to invest in a high powered PC for AE, and have been looking into your solution number 1, but I’m also considering a dual Opteron. Does anyone know how a Dual Xeon system (FSB800) compare to an equal Opteron system?

I’ve tried QT uncompressed (i.e. compression: none), and I still get the same problems. It’s all very confusing…? hmm.
