    best PC for AfterEffects

    Hi I’m thinking to get a new PC mainly for AfterEffects and some 3dsMax I’ve come down to 2 choices

    1. a dual intel xeon 3.0 processors 64 bits with 2GB Ram and a low end QuadroFX540 video card

    2. a single intel pentium D 3.0 processors 64 bits with 2GB Ram and 2 SLi ready WinFast PX6800 TDH card

    which will be more suitable for working in AfterEffects and 3dsMax?

    I’m also looking to invest in a high powered PC for AE, and have been looking into your solution number 1, but I’m also considering a dual Opteron. Does anyone know how a Dual Xeon system (FSB800) compare to an equal Opteron system?

    Hi,

    I have them both (Dual opteron 246 and Dual Xeon 2.8ghz), there is hardly a difference. Both are rock solid.

    I’d wait and see what the athlon X2 has to offer. Rumour has it thats its gonna be the fastest processor around.

    And get 2 of them and it would me smoking
