I do use Nuendo, and X2Pro for the AAF. It works, nice to do.

Also, Nuendo 7 now has re-conform, so changes in the video is no problem. (Only drawback is the re-conform only do EDL’s, but having Resolve as a EDL creator is a breeze.)

Sounds like the mixer is in internal sync and set to 44.1kHz, when played back FCPX goes back to 48kHz, then the voice will play at higher pitch i.e. helium voice.

Check you settings.

I say never go back to 7.

I use XtoPro all the time, but I go to Nuendo. No problems. The program is made for ProTools but work with others as long as you can import the AAF session.

The beauty is that when you have set up all the roles, then you can select which one to use in the sound-session.

I use it for all my productions, even now with re-conform in Nuendo. Editing sound is like a breeze.

People have to be aware:

Pro Tools First is major disaster

– can only save projects to cloud
– can’t open/save normal pro tools sessions
– can’t import/export to normal PT
– can’t use normal plugins, only in-app purchase
-etc-etc

This is worse than Garageband compared to Logic.

Me to started with Smoke. But that route is dead. I bought a full lisence, and now I’m out of the loop because I don’t rent it. So now I’m stuck with a support deal, which in essence gives me nothing for 1/2 a year.

And Smoke always had so many workarounds for problems, which flame had an easy tool for…. to bad.

Well, I’m for one very keen on going down this route.

I miss Shake, loved the nodes. So I’m really looking forward for this. In fact I’ve setup an old PC (GTX580 gfx card), just to be able to learn it better.

It will fit perfectly into the workflow.

I use: FCPX for editing, Resolve for grading, Nuendo for audio, and motion/AE for animation work.
Fusion will be great for more advanced GFX work, as it has some really nice tools inside.

And I don’t really like layers and preComp…. I love behaviors in motion.

But Fusion is of another leage. Difficult, yes, but it is fun.

Remember details take time.
