It was shot in anamorphic so there would be no need for cropping. So to confirm- material shot in anamorphic, captured anamorphic, cut on a 16 by 9 timeline has to be dumped to a 4 by 3 timeline before making QT in order to transfer to Digibeta so it will look right on all monitors(not just on a monitor with a 16 by 9 setting). Thanks

  • I don’t have a Kona card but I do have an AJA IO. Would the G Nicer and bumping up to Digibeta be effective through my AJA IO?

  • What if I apply the G NIcer then export to QT and then take to production house for Digibeta bump?
    Thanks again Graeme.

  • My titles look fine in DV. What about G Nicer. That’s not a good idea either if I’m outputting to DV Cam in order to bump to Digibeta?

  • My plan was this: I don’t have a Decklink or Kona card. I’m just bumping up my dv timeline to an uncompressed timeline. Add G NIcer to all my dv shot scenes. Output to DVCam. Take to facility and bump up in a linear room to Digibeta. Is this a wise approach. Won’t it enhance my subtitles?
Will it cause unwanted artifacts? Thanks Graeme for taking the time to give advice.

  • Is there any way to practically achieve this? In your opinion, is bumping up the sequence a viable
option to improve a piece with lots of subtitling?

Graeme, One more question if you would be so kind.
Which method would result in better quality?
    A) Leave my timeline at 10 bit, go thru my AJA Io composite out into my DSR-25
    B) Change my timeline to DV at 720 by 480 and go firewire out to DSR-25
    Thanks again, Harry

Graeme, I know you’re the man, I have purchased your filters and think they’re terrific, but I’m pretty sure I have output a 10 bit sequence to my DSR-25. Am I wrong? And if I am, there are no workarounds to get where I want to be? Thanks for your time. Harry K.
