OK, you’re not going to believe this. After many days of frustration, it all came back just now. Notion is it’s the Decklink 10 desktop video.

Sometimes it works, but mostly it does not. Also sound has to be reactivated by “settings” window in “project general”. 1080i is the selected output which worked in Final Cut, but doesn’t in PrPro.

Same here. Dropped frames from EX-3 SDI to Ki-Pro. Thought maybe it was the signal being too complex, i.e., we were shooting leaves moving in the wind. Is this possible? Don’t know. Otherwise there was no interruption in the video signal. Othertimes it would stop for no apparent reason, but claimed dropped frames.

    Michael,

Thank you. Yes, it still looks good on paper for keeping metadata intact.

OK Neo 3D all around, right? Does that mean in FCP too, not just NeoHD, so all metadata with cuts and effects will follow to Avid?

Michael, thanks for the info. We are hoping to edit in FCP with the Cineform codec then move to an online situation in Avid DS for finishing. On paper it seems like this will work. Right? Will know this week for sure.

Thanks for your help guys. I read the manual and worked with the machine for two days before posting here. All inputs are matched in the GUI and the front readout.

There is a shot in the website testimonial video of 1080i 59.97, which is what I was trying to make my machine do. Since the camera outputs 1080/60i it appears this could be a mismatch because the Ki-Pro doesn’t support that. One important reason for getting it was to have this recording capacity, but oh well.

One more thing before the shoot I still do not understand. Will recording in Pro-ResHQ be a superior signal to Pro-Res regular (not LT or Proxy) from the SDI out of my EX3? Or should I test and look at it?

I don’t know what this is: “Make sure rp188 tc is on.”
