I used HP ltfs 3.4.2 and drag and drop the data to tape at the time of backup. When I tried to restore the data I forgot the version and tried with HP Ltfs 3.2.0. As it gets error I reinstalled 3.4.2 but no luck.

September 8, 2021 at 12:35 pm in reply to: LTO cartridge taking long time to erase new/old mediaDear Folks,
Sorry for reopening the same old post again. It’s an update of my hardware. As many of the folks advised me to change my ATTO R680 cause it’s not have TLR for error correction, while I am getting errors again from a month I have replaced my R680 with H1280. I am still getting the same issue again even after the replacement. While doing the backup there is some size mismatch with the file and size on tape. Ex: 6.5gb of data copied to tape and the occupied space on tape is 10gb, even have the issue while restoring an old tape, it is taking days to copy a file with size of 19GB. Smaller files like arriraw is getting copied faster but alexa mini mxf and prores files with bigger file sizes are taking longer.
Hardware Info:
MBP 2012
sonnet echo express seIIAtto H1280
HP storever 6250 hh6
HPE LTFS version 3.4.0

January 26, 2021 at 5:10 am in reply to: LTO cartridge taking long time to erase new/old mediaseems like the issue is getting resolved, from the time of my last post I haven’t done any changes. But, I could be able to copy 2.3TB to the tape now which is better improvement than the earlier 1.89TB.
Yesterday I have put a full tape backup test with 2.31TB of arriraw footage and it’s done some what perfectly I would like to say. It still occupies 80GB extra space on tape but it’s still a relief. Please check the below attached screenshot.
Now it’s time check the restoring to check whether the data is fully copied without errors or not. So I put the same tape to restore back to my internal disk. It asked me 8hours to transfer 900gb. the restoring started at 8AM and now it 10:40 AM, 240gb copied till now and it is still showing 6hours.

January 23, 2021 at 10:20 am in reply to: LTO cartridge taking long time to erase new/old mediaDear Tim,
Please check the below attached logs and the screenshots of the hpp_ltt test.
Device analysis test turned good.
connectivity test results are also fine.
I am getting an write error at read/ write test and asking me to clean the drive with a unexpired cleaning cartridge. I did and ran the test again. still the same issue.
I ran data assessment test where I got an error saying partitioned tape is not compatible for the test, even though I actually used an new cartridge I unpartitioned the cartridge and ran the test again, and the result is the tape has not enough data to finish the test. don’t get it.

January 21, 2021 at 5:55 am in reply to: LTO cartridge taking long time to erase new/old mediaThe other thing I am noticing from past two days is that when I am doing wipe, format or mount the whole table is vibrating because of the drive, it was not there earlier.

As you said I have also referred the support page from yoyotta’s website. I do have that in mind and some times when I get other kinds of TLR related errors I will remember what the page said. I don’t think this is kind of problem could be happened through R680. Even though to confirm that I have used my old sas card IBM LSI 2008 which came along with my old Ibm drive in a windows machine the result doesn’t changed a bit.
other kind of problems like while deleting an written file from the media it will object with a copyright protection and some times while we are doing backup also I have faced copyright error can cause through ATTO R680 I hope.
And also I have been doing regular backups using the same card since 2016.
