March 6, 2018 at 6:19 pm in reply to: Vegas Video 14 — Can’t get Magix customer support to fix it> Are the licensing servers still working? Afraid to try… Would be great if someone can confirm this.
I recently installed Vegas 15 on a new PC and got a “This software is already installed on 2 computers which is the maximum allowed” message. Luckily my old PC still functions so I uninstalled Vegas 15 from it and then was able to install it on my new PC. (I guess the other install was on my laptop, I’m not really sure.)
If you were reinstalling because an old C drive had failed, however, I guess you would NOT be able to successfully install it.
Vegas is the only video editing software I’m comfortable with using, but if there’s literally no support provided by Magix I guess I’m going to have to learn to use something else before I run into an unfixable problem. 🙁

November 22, 2017 at 7:01 am in reply to: HD footage render to SD results in “green line” on rightI’m so glad I stumbled on to your post! This issue of rendering in pixels not divisible by 16 is still an issue…
I’m using Sony Vegas 13 and thought I was rendering to 864×480 MP4 but it was accidentally 854×480, which left me with the same vertical green bar on the right side of the rendered screen that everyone else is talking about in this thread.
This was driving me crazy, thanks so much for explaining. 🙂

May 11, 2016 at 8:24 pm in reply to: Anybody running Vegas on two computers with different versions of Windows? (7 &10 in this case)Just an FYI, I had an issue with Sony Vegas 12 files saved in Win7 opened up in Win10.
The Video Media Generators “Sony Titles & Text” didn’t hold its position on the screen, the layout was off. Luckily, opening those .veg files in Vegas 13 fixed that problem.

April 22, 2013 at 9:36 pm in reply to: Vegas 12 crashes when ProType titler is selectedThe fixes show on this YouTube video fixed the crashes I was getting while trying to render, and I believe it fixed my ProType titler crashes as well.
There’s 3 things he suggests, so I’ll just link to the video for the specifics:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0WhfPqdcUaQ…The first thing (and what fixed it for me) was to turn off the video accelerator under Preferences in Vegas.
Hope it helps, It’d been causing me a lot of trouble before I finally got it fixed with this.

October 26, 2012 at 7:08 pm in reply to: .Mov file not synced: Vegas reads audio & video as different lengths in same file (?)Well that was 4.5 hours of my life I’ll never get back. After many attempted failed workarounds, after ungrouping the video & audio tracks, I set the video playback rate to 1.005 which synced up the tracks enough that it’s workable (since it’s just a powerpoint video, not a talk head).
I’ve grouped the two tracks back together, and as long as the sync doesn’t get thrown off when I started editing out parts, it’ll work.

October 24, 2012 at 5:20 pm in reply to: Not getting $139 upgrade price from Sony for SVP12FYI, I just got off the phone with a very helpful rep and was able to get the $139.95 price.
Click “Add To Cart” for the $189.95 price, enter your serial number to go to the next page, and you’ll see a “Promotional Keycode” field in the cart.
Enter: 64785
After updating the cart, I got the $50 discount to $139.95
Now, he didn’t ask for my account information, so that 64785 code definitely wasn’t just for me, but FYI my last upgrade was from 9 => 11, meaning I skipped 10, and it occurred to me that it’s just possible that the code isn’t for everybody, just people they’re worried won’t upgrade. (?)
I’m probably over-thinking that, but if the code didn’t work for somebody else, maybe that’s why. Hope that helps somebody, this thread helped me to realize I could call them, so thanks for that. (I *think* the Net Notify prompt I got said it was only good through October BTW)

April 13, 2012 at 10:51 pm in reply to: Is there a plugin to make the “Typewriter Effect” simple?[Theo van Laar] “Plugins that will make the typewriter effect even much easier then Vegas pro titler are e.g. Boris Graffity, Boris RED en Prodad Heroglyph”
Thanks a lot for the suggestion. I guess I’ll be looking at Boris Graffiti, the RED is way out of my budget and I don’t see much info on ProDad.
There’s a frustrating lack of video training/explanations (at least that I’ve found). Looks like Graffiti has a 14 day free trial, so I guess the thing to do is try it out.
Thanks for the suggestions.

October 14, 2011 at 7:38 pm in reply to: Need to disable images from fading in and outAha! Disable Resample! Excellent, thanks a lot for that. 🙂
I just did this crazy interim render to WMV of all things just to remove those fades, it was a huge inconvenience.Disable Resample looks like all that’s needed, thanks so much for the tip. 🙂

October 14, 2011 at 4:59 pm in reply to: Need to disable images from fading in and outThanks a lot for the quick response, Roger. No, I don’t have the sliders on, it’s something much more bizarre, here’s what’s going on, in case anyone comes across this in the future:
I’m editing a video recorded at 1 frame per second (fps) by someone who was recording their computer screen using one of those video screen-capture programs.
When rendering in Vegas at normal frame rate, Vegas makes the images fade into each other! I was trying to add other screenshot images as overlays, and so I thought it was the image track doing it, but it was actually the video track. -Weird.
I’m going to try to re-render the 1 fps video in an outside program to a normal frame rate, then work with THAT video in Vegas. That sure had me confused, there’s always something new. 🙂

May 4, 2011 at 9:20 pm in reply to: Rendered MP4 won’t stream in JWplayer while bufferingSteve, I haven’t heard of Video4Youtube or Vegasaur, will check it out, thanks a LOT.
PS – I do have 9.e installed, I just checked again… “e” looks like “c” to me apparently when I’m in a hurry. 🙂
