.Mov file not synced: Vegas reads audio & video as different lengths in same file (?)
Yikes. I was sent a .mov recording from a GoToMeeting presentation (the .mov is when it’s recorded on a Mac, it’s the only version I have)
The video/audio plays fine in Quicktime player and VLC, but when adding the .mov to Vegas Pro (both v.11 and v.12), the audio track can be seen to be physically shorter in the track than the video, and they’re not synced up.
General
Type: QuickTime
Size: 160.56 MB (164,414,797 bytes)
Streams
Audio: 01:57:57.248, 16,000 Hz, 32 Bit (IEEE Float), Mono, AAC
Video: 01:58:38.400, 30.000 fps, 1152x720x24, H.264Yep… Vegas reads the audio as being shorter than the video even though they’re actually the same length!
I ungrouped the video/audio tracks and changed playback of video to 1.06 and doing that makes it *close* to syncing, but not perfect.
UPDATE: The same issue exists when loading the .mov into Camtasia 8 and ImTOO Video Converter, so it’s not a Vegas glitch, but that makes it even more of a problem.
Has anyone ever had this issue? Ugh, any suggestions would be greatly GREATLY appreciated, thanks!
