We are thinking of shooting progressive on P2 cards maybe 1080p25..still possible to edit on amacbook pro at this setting?

We want to export to Highest quality HD QT for playing at cinema’s via hard drives and possible 35mm blow up.

Any suggestions on export settings for best quality master for these options from a p2 card source?

Final work flow suggestions? recommend any good articles on P2 editing work flow in FCP.

What are the data rates for high end P2 cards compared to say HDV?

Does P2 give you a high enough quality with low data rates? we are looking for good quality for an indie feature film and like the transfer and ease of P2.

What are you experiences with P2? positive?

I am thinking of such a program

But my concern is bringing the exported progressive 1080p movie (from Photomagico or iphoto) into the FCP interlaced 1080i sequence and then getting interlacing artifacts on the image slide show in the sequence.

Advise?

I have heard that matte high res screens are better for color correction.

I went with the BTO 17′ inch with high res matte screen and 7200 rpm drives for better capture on field for temp storage and capture.

I was prepared to wait 3 weeks to have a better field editing machine.
