sure, it would not be a pretty good idea… but just seeing how accessible (for non-graders like me) BMD made resolve with version 9, I think they might have the drive to really lift MC out of it’s – may I call it: lethargy? pipe dreams as you called it. but I can dream whatever I want, can I?

as with Terranex or DaVinci, BMD could buy Avid and maybe we’ll finally get that new and greatly improved NLE that 6.x just isn’t. MC is still my preferred NLE but it’s just not what they keep advertising with very ‘new’ version. Fiddling around with Resolve 9 I see, that BMD seems to have the potential to do good things to software.

after you did that track-matte thingee you select the video layer and got to: layer -> layer styles -> stroke.
if you then twirl down your layer in the timeline, you have another instance under the transform parameters. you guessed it: layer styles. you can then modify the stroke’s parameters there.
you might want to precompose that, because i think there’s some issues with layer styles und certain circumstances. unfortunately i can’t recall what they were.

Real life experience:

Me: Sure! Oh well, this is a 2 hour programme, is it?
Manager: Yes? And?
Me: …It happened more than once.
I allways felt that, considering good work ethics, also the management should at least have a slight idea of how things are done. This also is true for customer relationship by telling them if THEIR deadline can be met respectively give the customers strict deadlines when to deliver the assets needed for the project.

It would need educational programmes like Kentucky Fried Movies “Living with the dead”, gameshows, news, big brother with dead people, date my dead mom, dead jackass, the kustom koffin show, burial rites of the world… i guess it’s a huge market too! -

After all that happened, or better did not happen, it’s more likely she lied to you.
Depending on what you consider a small amount of money and putting that into relation to paying a lawyer and/or law suit… Maybe just write it off as an educational fee? -
if you are in CS4 you could just use the stroke layer effect.

I’d rather use Effects/Channels/Shift Channels and set the Alpha to luminance. this way you keep the spatters solid. Please note that white parts of the image stay solid while black parts will be transparent. if your spatters are black on a white background invert the clip before applying Shift Channels.
