[Bob Zelin] ”
you are DREAMING if you think you are going to do complex 5.1 audio mixes inside Final Cut Pro. Apple offers Soundtrack Pro and Logic, and of course, there is Pro Tools, MOTU, and countless other audio mixing programs. Once you have your mix (or have mixed to picture), you import your 5.1 mix into FCP. You DO NOT MIX inside Final Cut Pro. Blackmagic and AJA products are not designed to work with Pro Tools, Soundtrack Pro, etc.”
I’m not planning to do ANY audio mix from within FCP. Never have actually. I OMF between FCP and Cubase/Nuendo. I come from the audio side, educated drummer an authorized composer/producer -;))
So, very true: I never mix within FCP. I actually never have fired up the new soundtrack, even though I had some fun with the first.
Blackmagics cards work fine with Cubase and Nuendo or Logic / DP for that sake.
What I am asking relates to sound routing. Not sound mixing.
Simply: Do I need an extra soundcard. I have already one Yammy digital mixer and an 896, but I’m setting up a second machine for dedicated post work. Audiomixing and HD video,
Cheers!
