Hmm.. funny.. I just switched to PPCC from Sony Vegas because it supposed to be more professional. In Sony it works with just one click! 🙂

Sony Vegas imports multichannel waves with no problem. Just drag and drop on timeline.

It is more than a bug, rather a sign of big ignorance. It’s not a detail you can forget about. It has been there at least since SV12 and nobody fixed it. I will contact them. Protools is industry standard. If Sony wants to go this way, they must work it out.

Yes… it renders the files to aiff. I hoped it would work but… when my Protools engineer opens the session, he gets over hundred tracks.. whats more, they are not in sync. Heh

I tried this with two diffeent versions of Protools.

Whats the point of including a feature that doesnt work???

    Mike,

I am not talking about exporting wave files of each track. I am talking about sending a working session to the audio engineer. This is how it should be done if we want to be PRO.

John, this is not a matter of Windows. Premiere can handle Quicktime better. Avid works on Windows as well. Smartrendering Quicktime could work if Sony wanted it to.

Despite these facts I just cant give up Sony Vegas so easely (but I am thinking about it often). Why? For example.. Have you seen how slow is Adobe Premiere timeline? The playback also seems to be less fluid. Vegas lacks of many features.. but I have an impression it is basing on slim but the fastest, most tricky code in NLE industry. Sony guys must change the way they think and add more features.

    John,

I just tested it. Prerendering parts of project didnt speed up rendering DNxHD. It was the same.

Yes, I output DNxHD everytime. Its a pity I cant speed up rendering process using smart rendering in SVegas. Almost whole broadcast industry bases on quicktime. This is reality.

I was hoping they would implement it in the new version.
