John, I am working in broadcast industry. The final output must be Quicktime mov (DNxHD or Prores). Will prerendering help me with projects with such output?

Yes, you are in trouble. You can try AATranslator and see if it works for you. It can convert veg sessions into ptf Protools but it is a bit cumbersome process and requires a bit of experience.
Yes, there is some third party software that may help but u cant really trust it. You should trust Sony Creative Software and if they ignoring this issue.. something isnt right.

It should be under PLACEMENT tab. Sync using date modified.

it is not so obvious. I am not in front of my computer right now but I think you will find it somewhere in Quick Properties. Sort files using date modified.

Try Vegasaur. It has the option to sync media using date modified file attribute.

and one more thing they should have implemented long time ago. Bins with different sequences (subprojects) in one project. I dont see this option so far.

I am working in a broadcast environment and there is one thing that is HELL. I cannot export SV12 session to Protools. My clients demand this. AAFs dont work as they should. There is also no OMF option. I am really thinking of switching to a different NLE although I love Vegas.
Just too much pressure from the broadcast industry.
I dont understand why Sony Creative Software have ignored this issue for so long. If SV13 doesnt have these features improved, I am giving up.

Wow. Cant wait. Hope Sony improves project interchange with other proffessional NLE’s. This is the only way.
