If needing to be careful about exactly what clips to delete, it’s best to just do it from the bin, deleting the media files of just the clips you want offline.
Today’s media tool is veeeery buggy and much more unreliable than it was a decade ago. I just use it to delete precomoputes now and even then it can only handle it 2.3 of the time. I’ll scroll through a timeline after killin it all and see a good handful of clips it missed. For this reason, I usually have to just throw my OMFI folders away about once a year just to delete everything.
Not always possible but the drives start beggin’ for it after a while. -
It sounds like normalizer is what ya want int his case. Throw it ont here and render it’s default setting then play with settings as needed.

I don’t know whet their budget is but I’d certainly build a nice FCP suite before upgrading to MC4. Truth is, I was on MC4 15 yeras ago. That makes it pretty black and white who is progressing and who is not.

It’s a simple method. If “critics” loved it. Skip it. If it’s bashed on repeatedly, buy a ticket. If it falls in between those, wait for the DVD release.

If someone is inviting you for a gig but have no budget for you, it’s as easy as saying “sorry, I have to work.”
Does it matter if they approve what you shoot on when paying bills they’ve admitted they can’t afford to pay?
I’ve personally never met an uneducated pro with an HDV camera. We bought em because they are cheap. Compressed HD is better looking and easier to sell in than what most of us came from… beta. It’s kind of a no brainer, really. What would my clients get from a red camera? A bigger bill… and I’d get less bookings a result. mmmm no thank ya. I have bills to pay. Ironicly, I don’t have time to hang in meetings off the clock. -

Because some numbskull at Avid truely believes it’s more cost effective to let paying consumers beta test for em than trouble-shooting product until it’s ready for release. He’ll be gone before the company is and they’ll never recover the lost clientele they continually chase away.
