well, parametric EQs do just that… ditch one sound. Wind noise is not just one sound though. It’s a redo or meshed with music and sound effects.

You could offer two options… the cadillac model or the chevy model.
A: double your bid and edit as planned. (but dont count on fixing washed out shots)
B: your current bid price and rent a little A/B switcher when you rent the deck and switch it on the fly while capturing. That would give you your cut in real time then you could just hop in with some titles.I’d not mention the B option here. I just throw it out if his budget doesn’t allow you to do it right.

while I hear ya, those things were what attracted folks to Avid a decade ago when the company was still competing. FCP was a low end consumer app at the time. One is simply growing faster than the other. I don’t think that’s debatable. Either they’ll make another executive shift and move forward, recovering from their mistakes or lack of care in the last half dozen years or we’ll soon all be cuttin’ on a Final Cut Avid.

No need. She took is a compliment and you’ll find all of your clients will when you like their product so much you ask them if you can include it on your reel. It’s an opportinity much more than a legal issue. Don’t scare em away with paperwork.

How else are they gonna get top bid? They have to have reasons for someone to take the risk in buying them. Falling stock and rapidly depleting market share are not very enticing.

all this with a still jokingly aliased DVE from 1995 (the first MC5), multiple buggage (more to be found in this release, we’re all sure), still limited audio, and obviously more stock in adobe and apple purchased by Avid. (I kid, I kid)
While these new features are cool, the obvious place (to me) for them to start would have been to start fixing what is wrong… not venturing into yet more new bug territory for us to pay to beta test for em.
That’s the bottom line. Get it right then release it. As it is right now, they’ve burned too many bridges to expect a fleet of eager upgraders.
I’ll still hang back. I do want a great RED workflow but I’ll wait till some dust settles for obvious reasons.
