is it possible to migrate a project from AVID MC to FCP?

If yes, what would be the work flow? what files do i need to copy/convert?

this is just a hypothetical situation , i am not working on any such project , i am just exploring boundaries of AVID and FCP ..

    any comments are appreciated

    thanks

    Automatic Duck. Period.
However, if you intend on moving a synced and logged project, not edits, that won’t work easily.

Automatic duck or a CMX 3600 EDL. Thems yer options.
I realize we don’t always depict our workflows from the get go but, affordable as it is, man you can save a lot of time and money just starting the project in FCP when it’s final destination is FCP.
It’s funny. Back in the day, folks offlined on FCP and onlined on an Avid. Now, not only is it vice versa, there is less of a reason to start a project in Avid as each day goes by.

thanks job and greener… I got to know about Pro Import and Pro Export FCP pluggins ..
For anyone who wants to know more about it please refer below video tut.

    https://automaticduck.com/products/pifcp/

I understand that exporting AVID edits in OMF or AAF files will let you import edits as it is in FCP

In this tutorial i didnt get what is ‘automatic duck’? Is this a software ?

    You forgot about https://www.marquisbroadcast.com/marquis/bridging.htm

I’ve personally never had a reason to start in FCP. Nor finish, by the way.

On a sidenote: Avid is buying Euphonix.

[Job ter Burg] “On a sidenote: Avid is buying Euphonix.”

How else are they gonna get top bid? They have to have reasons for someone to take the risk in buying them. Falling stock and rapidly depleting market share are not very enticing.

I’ve never seen the point in all the business strategy speculation myself. I just noticed that there is a more than strong suggestion that Avid video editing systems are going to be able to use the Euphonix Artist Series.
