I tend to stack a layer and use animatte much more than the selective color effect. Just correct as needed, make your mask and animate it as ya like.

just have em overnight some running footage to ya. Nobody wants stills in a car ad and it’s not like the running footage isn’t already paid for.

net 30 is the national norm unless otherwise stipulated. I seldom stipulate anything. If I smell a rat, I flee before a hassle starts. If I am comfy, there is no reason to bring it up. I’m kind of simple like that. Does that mean some stretch it to net 60 or beyond? It does. Do I mind? naaaa. I’ve found it’s the best way to save money.

any company that corals artists through HR departments is not really in the business of hiring the best artists.

Just stick to your usual day rate. This way, you are covered if they make a bigger production out of it than needed. Same for post. It’s ok to quote a flat bid, just round up for revisions before ya quote it. Today, these quickies don’t have to cost the client more than a few grand.

Some students look at low/no pay as exploitation. Some see it as opportunity. See it for what it is and it’s a pretty easy decision to make. You can make this money making videos right now and multiply your income later or at burger king now and stick with the pay that is offered. It’s up to you.

List em anyway. A wide variety of experience makes you marketable and clinging to just one place will make you look otherwise. Everyone in the industry is use to places coming and going. It’s what you did for them (and therefor what you can do for the company holding your resume) that they care about.

scan lines works will and if just wanting a drop out, you can put that on a top layer and animatte your bar.

You can add it in photoshop as long as you don’t need to animate the shadow. Otherwise, yeah you’ll be going to after effects where you have much more control over the shadow and everything else.
