Hello, I looked aruond the answer here for my question but I couldn’t find the answer yet.

I made a key in photoshop or animate and export that matte key into avid and apply the video to it so. (for example, video inside start shape window) Now I would like to hava a nice soft shadow around it. Is there any way to do it without going to After Effect? I have an access to BCC and Saphire.

    Thank you.

You can add it in photoshop as long as you don’t need to animate the shadow. Otherwise, yeah you’ll be going to after effects where you have much more control over the shadow and everything else.

I know that BCC has a Drop Shadow effect that you can apply to Matte Key effects. Drag it directly onto the Matte Key effect (don’t Alt+Drag it to nest it – just drag it). It will replace the Matte Key effect, then in the Boris effect you choose to apply it to the TitleMatte.

I believe Sapphire has something similar, but I haven’t used Sapphire effects in 4 years so I can’t remember.
