Timing is ther most important thing in asking a chick out, comedy, and editing. If it has to be explained to you, you should go into accoutning. If it never has been required an explaination, rock on and enjoy your career in post.

The project will open and you can batch as you normally would. If going to FCP, a CMX3600 edl works, as long as the project is edl friendly. Doesn’t sound like you can hop in there and do 4 audio tracks at a time, remove plugins, ect. You’ll see these hickups left out in the new sequence. If reel names are larger than 5 characters you’ll have to mend that in the original project. -

Dying industry? Seems wording as a changing industry would have been better. Dude could have saved some time and ink if he just wrote “Never has video been in bigger demand. Due to changes in technology and price points, old school post houses are being replaced by folks who bust it out quicker and cheaper with better quality.”

I wouldn’t assume it’s going to be edited at all. It may just be they want full documentation of the day. I’d not over think it. Again, I’d just quote a day rate and hand em some footage. I did this just the other night for an MMA fight. Couldn’t tell ya what’ll be used in post. Not my gig in this case. I was hired to shoot it and hand him a tape. Done deal.

You should be at around 300k a year but when they offer the 60k they’ve put aside for the position, decide if you can work for that price or not.

I’d say a flat $800 would be fair for all. That gives them documentation of the big day without breaking the bank and gives you some more experience.
As far as advice on the shoot, just know it’s the bride’s day. If you find yourself trying to decide weather to catch this or that when two things are happening at the same time, the bride is your shot.
