Not sure why the powers that be want to increase budget and decrease the quality of the finished product but You can always bring out and old school switch and do cross dosolves as ya shoot.
I’d probably hire a kid nobody knows to do that and stand in the shadows due the obvious embarrassment involved tho. 😉

Sometimes in a pre pro meeting it’s a good idea to just say no, we’re not doing it that way. Kind of what pre production meetings are for, man.

You rmajot challenge will never be what gear to buy. That’ll always revolve around your needs and budget and will answer that question on it’s own. Your biggest challenge will be getting and keeping clientele. Don’t build it thinking they will come. Sir up all the business you can and rent or buy accordingly.

HDV is 5:1 in a 4:1:1 color world. The 5DmII shoots far superior pictures so it’s quite the no brainer.

I expect Avid to respond like they want some of that market share they handed to FCP back. If not, it’ll all go to adobe.
Looking forward to their response to FCP’s fold. I would have thought that would have happened weeks ago.

You just select the bin when ya save it. After that it defaults to that bin until you change it again. Because you do all of your titles last, you really only have to tell em where to go one time.

telepromter operators no doubt earned ther 600 dollar day rates 15 years ago. But then, oldass linear suites could get an easy 450 an hour too. lol
Today, it’s as easy an a ragedyass laptop with a cheap program fed to your telprompter mirror and a PA pushing the scroll button. If locked down, you could easily do it as the producer/director/videographer/editor and skip the day rate.

My ego is way too large to market. I’m an artist. By that, I enkoy putting my work out there and allowing folks to come to me. Cocky? Without question. More profitable than paying to chase folks down who don’t yet want my work? Hell, I dunno. I’d just rather them chase me. It’s how I got my wife.
