Keying: Canon 5DmkII v. Canon XH A1
So, I have access to both of these cameras at work but, for reason I won’t go into, I can’t just sit down and run a full set of tests to figure out which of the two is actually better for green screen keying. So I wanted to know, from you experts here, which of the two cameras is better for green screen work.
As a quick reminder, the XH A1 shots in HDV 1080p30 with a compression rate of 4:2:0 (if I am reading this thing right). Where as the 5D captures .mov .h264 1080p, also with a compression rate of 4:2:0 (I got that info from Philip Bloom, so I believe it ;-).)
Any thoughts? I know they have the same compression ratio, but I’m told that DV and HDV’s compressors kinda suck. So… yeah, thoughts?

HDV is 5:1 in a 4:1:1 color world. The 5DmII shoots far superior pictures so it’s quite the no brainer.
