Some of em actually originate within the corporate offices at A-B. Matter of fact, if you’ve ever heard the “Mr way too much calogne wearer” spot, that’s about the very same dude who was in my suite this afternoon.

So you know, the going rate for a manned edit suite in your market is 250/hr and the going rate for a freelancer is around 70/hr.
I tell you that just so you have barrings on the norm, knowing you are not the norm. You are buying experince in this one, they are buying a half priced deal.
I’d say throw out a flat rate because it will take you longer than a seasoned editor by the hour.
Look at it as adding content to your reel. Any money is a bonus. Ask for 500 bucks per DVD and do em all for that price if ya have to. Then next time around you can stick your chest out a little more.

That’s called being the brand and is a crucial part in networking.
Place and time change… be the brand and you are always advertising no matter the environment.
Not great for family picnics but pretty awesome in line at the game store.

The only breaks I have seen in this industry in 20 years are the ones I have given.
I have a friend I wanted to work with so I trained him and handed him a fine career on a silver platter. In 2 decades of this, this is the only circumstance I have even heard of where a career came to a person, not the other way around.
Ya gotta create your own breaks. Being in the facility of your choice doing free work can do that.

so much the norm has jokingly become to crash record out.
You can insert tc in a later pass if required. I know it’s cheezy but it beats bangin the ole melon against the wall just trying to make a tape.
I don’t even insert tc anymore. lol I have gotten pretty dadgum accurate in hitting a 1 hour even show start within 5 frames or so.
