What I got a kick out of is their offering of web design services on what may be the cheeziest site I have ever seen. I wasn’t able to watch the whole reel as it grated on nerves after 12 secons but I was highly enetertained by the bear logo with the rolling eyes. Looked like a mascot who was embarrassed. lol

You will find almost all clients love compliments. You usually know when your dubbing if you want that content on your reel or not and that is the time to ask the producer sitting behind you. They’ll love the compliment every time if you word-smith it as such.

You can shoot the scene with and without the principal then freeze layer one (without principal) and mask in layer two…same shot with your principal.

Tey offer opportunity. Never do free work, man. Investing in opportunity should not be looked at as doing free work. I work all the time for no money but man, it sure aint for nothin’. I can’t afford that. I also can’t afford to just keep pushing buttons for others. That would have me doing the same ten years from now and I’m just not willing to do that. I create labors of love and submit them. One day I’ll make a great freakin’ living creating my own shows. My time is a great investment in this.
Back in the day when I worked for no money for others, it was so I could get jobs from those people after I proved myself. Again, that’s a wise investment. Suck it up. Get to work.
    or get a real job.

I am seeing the best clients today can become grinders in this economy. This is new.
It use to be you could see a grinder coming faaar aw. It was as easy as passing. Today, the folks I respect the most and have billed hundreds of thousands of dollars through are stabbing me after the fact. I have one client who has pulled 4k off of my families dinner table in the last 2 months alone… all after the invoice was sent. We agreed on a price, I did much more work than agreed to then when he gets yelled at by his boss over budget, he wines to me promising we’ll make it up on the nexct one. What to do? Freakin see a new trend, learn and explain I have to work for grown ups the next time he calls. I made the MISTAKE of agreeing to alter invoices for him. Just don’t do that. If you do, you are teaching them you will do it again and then when you don’t they get mad and go elsewhere. Stand your ground and they’ll respect you.
To me, there is no medium ground. Folks can either afford your services or they cannot. It doesn’t have to be more confusing than that.

    whew.
Man the first reel I ever made wasn’t much better. If we are always embarrassed by our last reel, we are always growing.

There isn’t a price norm as it revolves around what they pretend to be views/ears but what you know to be the negotiation. You can contact Sony Music directly (if they are the right holders) and aquire rights.

The bottom line is you can’t.
Watch Clash of the Titans and you’ll see the best examples of what I’m talking about. You can totally nail the sky and surroundsins but over and over shadows will give you away. If you can, alter the script to justify the day.

I have a way bum knee that makes that impossible. Having had ten too many bad car wrecks, the ole back is a bummer too. I have found the best solution for me is a custom made console that is much higher than desks, allowing me to scoot my chair under it and rest my arm on it as I sit and edit. It’s high enough I have to sit up straight, couldnt slouch if I wanted to. I have to pop my back about every hour as pinched nerves will make it numb in spots… then tingle which aint cool.
We are all made differently. It aint a one size fits all world. An oversized console is the fit my me.

Anytime I note my hours but have a price that is lower, I just add a subtolal of what it should have been then notate that I’m a cool dude, show the price subtraction and the new total.
The only reason to round down is to be a cool dude for em. May as well spell it out.
