I have the same situation as you, shooting long surgeries where I don’t pause the cameras for 4 hours at a time. So when I use XDCam Browser to ingest the card, I then double check that I successfully ingested the BPAV folder by creating a unique folder for that card under the hierarchy of that camera, then double check it to make sure it is there. Then I simply drag the BPAV folder FROM THE CARD into the trash and empty it and go forward, reloading the card into the camera while it is still rolling with the other card. I alternate cards in this manner.
Who says for one shoot it’s better to reformat the cards in the camera. I certainly don’t notice any problem with using this technique.
Later, after the shoot, I use XDCam Transfer, load all the cards from the ingested folders for all cameras, and run them all into Capture Scratch in a unique folder I have made for working in FCP.

Thanks! I have done similar things before in FCP, and followed frame by frame the movements to the object I tried intersecting with. I guess the thing I was uncertain about is if I could create a mask map, an odd shape, of an area that is not just cropped or square in Motion? And yes I know how goofy it can look when not done well. Luckily, his face was relatively still.

Just to piggyback on Craig’s advice, if you want it seen on an iPad, then a Flash Player is not enough. The Player will likely need to be an HTML5 video player with a fallback to Flash on other devices.

I think he also upgraded to OS 10.6 in the interim. I may have the timing of that wrong. Hopefully he will come on soon.

He did the transfer using Clip Browser like we always do, and it was there and he looked at it after.
I may be missing some component of the story, and he will likely come onto this thread soon. He hasn’t posted anything in a long while so I think the Cow system checks him out as a spambot or something before he posts (not sure), but the odd situation is that it was on his computer, then it wasn’t. In my own work I will fill up whole cards with one clip and span them from card to card.
We looked in the CLPR folder after he couldn’t find it using Browser. We tried Finder and all. Tomorrow he will take the computer and the SxS card to a local Mac guy to see if it can be recovered.
Is there a way it could be on some space in the computer or the SxS card, or at least part of it?
I see the still you posted of Browser Prefs above. Is this something to do beforehand or is it possible to locate the clip through this?

Yes, this is my guess too, but this was not handed to me on a Blu-Ray but on a DVD+R with other stuff. Of course the whole thing came to me through several layers of people.

Or is there a HDV driver that I could get for FCP? Or is this what ClipWrap is. Now that I think about it, this isn’t the first time I have had trouble with HDV, if that is what this is.

I will try to see what the heck format it is first. Do you think it will work with 25 frame European HDV footage to take into FCP and edit it?
