Hi Dave, you might consider using footage such as from Detonation Films:

Perhaps recolor and time offset versions of this?

Hi, in general terms: roughly mask out all the characters and cars moving in the shot then use the inbuilt Camera Tracker (make sure the signs are always visible). You should be able to track the shot up until the signs go off screen. Then create a camera and solid(s) over the signs – replace solids with still images of the signs created in Photoshop.

Hi Ben, I think you might be looking for “camera mapping”. This Creative Cow tutorial by Andrew Devis should give you the idea:

Hi Jim, I’m presuming that your Beam length is set to 100%? In which case you probably need to use the Pan Behind tool to move the anchor point of the shape layer to where you want the shape to connect with the beam. Or that would be my guess?

March 3, 2017 at 1:33 am in reply to: How to do that effect?

Hi Dawid. There are several ways to do it – none automatic in After Effects that I know of.
One way: make a black solid then draw four square masks where you want them. Put your videos above your background layers then scale, position and mask them so they sit over your black squares.
If you don’t understand this then you should really start with the very basics. These tutorials are very old but they are quick and give you the baby basics:
    https://www.videocopilot.net/basic/
These will easily give you enough to understand the instructions above.
Then you could go on to the Andrew Devis basics tutorials here at Creative Cow -which are great and go into some depth.

Hi Seth, sorry I’ve no idea what is happening in your project (animate an image in the scene – travel to the next scene?). Perhaps if you could go into more detail and/or provide images someone may be able to help.

Hi Vugar, you could try the CC Kaleida effect. Mirroring=Starfish, scale the Size so that you only see one version, then keyframe the Center moving vertically up and down.

  • Hi Hanna, you might try pre-composing your text then using CC Cylinder on it in your main comp (resize in your precomp if neccessary)?

Hi Chris, do you mean video references of mice twitching or are you looking for techniques to use? If the latter how are you creating the mouse?

Forgot to say: to create the logo in 3D you will need to convert it to paths and then extrude it in the 3d application.

(I know there must be a way of editing my posts, but for the life of me I can’t figure out how to do it – could someone kindly give me some guidance?)
