If the logo is a vector image, in Illustrator you can choose to Expand the object, both fill and stroke and then those shapes can be used as a mask on a solid and keyframed.

Hi Chouse, I think you may be talking about a Track Matte. Make the logo white, add the image under it. You should see 3 drop down boxes next to the image layer heading (if you can’t, press the Toggle Switches/Modes box at the bottom of the layer panel) select the TrkMat box and set it to Luma Matte. The white parts will now show the image.
