When I have gotten that error I usually had a wrong save path in the render settings file that doesn’t exists. Most of the time some random letter was added to a folder name.
Hope that helps

To create something like this from not having any experience in design might be kind of tough. You can do this illustrator if you can sketch out your concept and learn the program. I personally would create a concept like this in a 3D package but that just my personal preference from my background.
I would suggest that you might want to just learn the basics of design, sketching, maybe even interior design before jumping into something like this. The tutorials on this site will help you for sure to learn the programs but not necessarily design.
hope this helps

The equivalent built into After Effects would be the project panel that you use to organize the files for your project.
If you need more than that you could use Adobe Bridge but that’s external

June 28, 2011 at 1:23 pm in reply to: Using slider expression to control oscillating value of opacity? There is actually a preset already set up to do pretty much this in a random way.
If you look in animation presets > behaviors > Opacity flash random or just search opacity flash you will find it.
You can use this a building block to make exactly what you need or just use as is.
Hope this helps.

Check out the link below for a list of method to achieve this.

The “An Animated Arrow To Rule Them All” method is the way I like to do it the most recently.
Hope this helps.

It’s based on the default set by your computer for that type of file. Some files are default to photoshop like .psd’s.
You need to find a file that is the same type and change the default application for that type/file extension.
These links should help once you figure out what type of file it is.
Hope this helps
