September 26, 2009 at 4:20 pm in reply to: Sending XDCAM EX 1080p30 footage to compressorHi,
The grid is mostly likely from our DEMO version of Calibrated{Q} XD Decode for OSX – which you must have installed on your computer at some point (there are no FCP 5 updates with the XDCAM EX codec – FCP 6.0.2 has Apple’s XDCAM EX codec updates). Calibrated{Q} XD Decode for OSX is not meant for and should not be used on computers with FCP. To uninstall, just follow the uninstall instructions in the ReadMe which you can download from the webpage here (it’s on the righthand sidebar):
https://www.calibratedsoftware.com/QXD.asp
Once you delete Calibrated{Q} XD Decode and restart – you’ll have no more grid.

Hi,
That’s because Apple has its own DVCProHD codec that comes with FCP – so if our Calibrated DVCProHD Codec is installed too then sometimes its used instead of the Apple DVCProHD codec and vice-versa for various tasks.

September 24, 2009 at 4:14 pm in reply to: How to convert files which was shot on an EX-1 to edit on Premiere Pro CS3 (Windows)Hi,
PProCS3.2 is a free upgrade for PProCS3 – so you really should upgrade to it to edit XDCAM EX MP4 files.
But if you can’t for some reason – then I guess you can’t – but I really don’t know what else you could do with CS3 only though – you might want to ask in the Adobe Premiere Pro forum.

September 23, 2009 at 3:50 pm in reply to: How to convert files which was shot on an EX-1 to edit on Premiere Pro CS3 (Windows)Hi Benjamin,
Here’s a link to the page where you can download Sony’s XDCAM EX Clip Browser v2.5 (which I think is the latest). With that application, you should be able to view your XDCAM EX MP4 files and make sure they have audio.
https://www.sony.ca/xdcamex/support.htm
Per PProCS3, you do not need to re-wrap the XDCAM EX MP4 files to .mov files – that’s really for a Final Cut Pro workflow. I believe you need the PPro CS3.2 update to edit XDCAM EX files.
If the clips do have audio (which you can verify by playing the clips in XDCAM EX Clip Browser) then most likely it would be some setup problem with PPro as to why the audio is not playing.
Hope that helps!

Hi,
Just reading thru your post again. Do you have FCP 6.0.2 or greater? That’s the FCP version needed to edit XDCAM EX footage.
Our Calibrated{Q] XD Decode for OSX is only might for Windows Computer or MacIntel COmputer without any version of FCP installed. Calibrated{Q} XD Decode will let you view/work with XDCAMHD/XDCAMEX/HDV MOV files – in DEMO mode it will show the large grey rectangle watermark.

Hi,
You must have downloaded our Calibrated{Q} XD Decode for OSX DEMO – as what you are describing is the DEMO watermarks. Calibrated{Q} XD Decode for OSX is not meant for Mac computers with FCP. You can uninstall by deleting the Calibrated folder from the /Applications directory and the CalibraedXDCodec.component from the /Library/QuickTime directory and then restart your system.
