Hi Alex,
Sorry for the problem.
But it should be an easy fix.
Basically, there are some function in FCP that won’t work properly unless the TypeCode of the file is set to ‘MooV’ (i.e. like the SmoothCam Filter or the Media Menagament Recompress to ProRes0.
We do have a way in our Calibrated{Q} MP4-EX Import Options to Auto-Change the TypeCode of the MP4 file to ‘MooV’
https://www.calibratedsoftware.com/supportlibrary_view.asp?FAQs_ID=15
You can read about it in the above link (link above refers to SmoothCam Filter but is applicable in your scenario as well)
You can also read more here in the new User Guide here (see bottom of Page 11):
https://www.calibratedsoftware.com/downloads/CalibratedQ-MP4EX-UserGuide.pdf
If you have any questions, please email me at info@calibratedsoftware.com
In the next release of Calibrated{Q} MP4-EX Import for OSX, the change TypeCode feature to ‘MooV’ will be enabled by default.

Hi,
Did you enable ‘Auto-Referencing’ in our component? It’s for opening up XDCAM MXF files faster. You can read about it here in the User Guide on page 16

You can email me at info@calibratedsoftware.com if you have any questions.

Hi Rafael,
Our software – Calibrated{Q] MXF Import for OSX and the MXF Import from MXF4MAC do basically the same thing and they can’t co-exist on the same computer as they would conflict with each other.
The non-optimized warning by FCP – is just that – a warning only and should not interfere with importing the mxf files. FCP though may have a harder time playing the files back on slower hardware or keeping up with multiple streams, etc.
Per FCP not reading the files for multi-stream playback – are you refering to our component not being able to import the MXF files into your FCP bin – or FCP not being able to import the MXF files via Log and Transfer?
If you want you can always email me at info@calibratedsoftware.com for further help.

Hi,
It looks like you’ve installed our Calibrated{Q} MP4-EX Import for OSX component which allows native importing and editing of XDCAM EX MP4 files within Final Cut Pro. The DEMO MODE limitation is only showing up to 30 seconds of media – you would have to purchase a Software License in our online store to remove the DEMO MODE limitation here;
https://www.calibratedsoftware.com/store/item_view.asp?estore_itemid=1000016
Otherwise – you would have to download and install the free XDCAM Transfer application to re-wrap MP4 files to MOV to import into FCP – the moderators on this forum can direct you where to download XDCAM Transfer and how to use it.

Hi,
It looks like you installed our Calibrated{Q} XD Decode for OSX at some point. The grey boxes are the DEMO MODE watermark for an older version of our software (the DEMO MODE watermark now is the product logo).
The uninstall instructions are in the Calibrated{Q} XD Decode User Guide PDF which you can find here:
https://www.calibratedsoftware.com/QXDDownload.asp
But basically,
1. Close all applications
2. Delete the Calibrated folder from the /Applications directory
3. Delete the CalibratedXDCodec.component from the /Library/QuickTime folder (that’s the Library folder on your Main harddrive NOT the Library folder in your User directory)
4. restartand that’s it.

Hi,
Sorry can’t help then. The only .YUV files I’ve known about are the .yuv image sequence files. Maybe try to see what software/hardware created the file and then go from that.

Hi Wayne,
.yuv files are uncompressed 8-bit YUV image files, where each .yuv file is a single frame. There typically is no header of any kind – the height/width are determined by looking at the size of the file on disc.
I believe Shake understands what .yuv files are.
Hope that helps!

April 6, 2010 at 11:00 pm in reply to: Cannot open MOVs in Premiere Pro on Windows (dvh2?)Hi,
I believe that’s DVCProHD 1080p25 MOV files – which PPro doesn’t understand natively.
You can try out our Calibrated{Q} DVCProHD Decode here:
https://www.calibratedsoftware.com/QDVCProHD.asp
(In DEMO MODE it will watermark 7 gray rectangles over the video).

Hi,
That sounds like it’s XDCAM MXF Files – you should install XDCAM Transfer if you want to use Log and Transcode and get them into FCP.
