Wow…First of all I’m not sure how things work in your country but it doesn’t take much to become incorporated here in the US. You need to check with the local government in your area. Check the web for starting a small business.

Then once you start up, create a website. You need a real great site if you’re looking to do graphics work. You also need to create some samples that you can show those who come to your site. Get out thhere and attend networking events. Do some freebies if you need to create some demos. It’s more about what you can do for other businesses, not what you studied.

WARNING. It will get frustrating. It will be hard. t will take a long time. But be strong. KKeep going forward. Keep learning and telling eveyone about what you do.

Also make sure that you check and double check any written communications, or have someone proof read your stuff. Hopefully typing in your own language is not as challenging as typing in English. However, you didn’t do badly!

    Good Luck.

Thanks to Ron, David, Pixel, Mark, Frank, and Nick. As always, you guys are the best. Nick, I did what you said, compiled a file with all documents, emails, timelines, and description of events just in case. Frank, I don’t think I would go after her for a lawsuit. I’m just glad to have her out of my life.

Mark, your words are always encouraging, and right on. Thanks for your insight. I never heard back from her after writing my last email saying I was pulling the plug.

As an after thought though, do you folks have something in your contracts regarding cancellation? I’m thinking about 2 areas here… First they do not provide a contract and deposit when due, and second, it needs to be cancelled because of differences, changes in the scope of work, time frame changes, etc.

Lastly, how do you deal with things like rain for an outdoor shoot, or here in Florida a hurricane? Thanks again

Thanks all. By the way Michael. I loved your answer regarding the price. That’s classic! I’ll keep it in my files for future use.

In this case, I would have looked at my schedule, figured out how much
I wanted the project, and then bid accordingly for either a bare-bones or lavish production.

    Bob,
how would you bid on either type of production? How many days of shooting? Where would the shooting take place? Paid or non-paid talent? Audio? Editing? What formats are thheir video in? How much video and stills do they have? How many chapters on the DVD? I mean without this info what would you bid have been? Then why bother?

May 9, 2006 at 11:43 pm in reply to: Digital Juice editor’s toolkit?

Thanks for your help. I can only see this after I import it into a bin and make it a composition cip. However I can’t change the position of it, nor can I re-size it. Any thoughts? Also, Digital juice says to use the media 100 codec, but that option does not appear in juicer. Any more help would be appreciated

    Hi Floh,

Thanks. I actually figured it out by turning on the alpha channel in graffiti. It worked. Thanks so much for your help.

    Thanks Floh,

It’s still not working. I get to the point where i see the red but all I see is a faint outline of the logo. I’ve saved this as a tiff, but when i import it into m100 all I get is a black screen with the logo outline. Any thoughts? I must be missing it somewhere. Thanks for your help

  • I’m a one-man band, but go by “we”. Often you need another person, grip, audio, prompter, make-up, etc. That constitutes a”we” without lying.
