Thanks, I will use the same source file moving forward…I certainly don’t need yet another variable : )
I definitely want to eventually find out why my old camera renders twice as slow as it did a week ago though!
Thanks again,

Thank you Francois…I will most likely always use the MP4 container but I’m not sure about the codec.
It defaulted to x264 but wondering if I should try something else.
I ask because I’m seeing around 2 X real time as far as renders when testing anything more than 5 minute.
I used to render 1080p at about 3/4 real time before I got this new camera.
To try to narrow the problem down I just shot/rendered some footage with the old camera and it takes about 2X real time now too.
Also, after rendering the 1min test I went back to the timeline and hit play and keep getting an error stating “an error occurred while starting playback. The request is not enabled for this device” so I’m not sure what’s going on..should I start a separate thread on that issue or does anyone have a suggestion?
Thanks again,

Hi Steve, thanks very much for this.
I have been struggling with renders from a new camera I bought.
I just rendered a 1 minute test clip using Voukoder and was please to find it only took 1min 45sec as opposed to 2.5 min and the quality looks very good.
That said, I only see “use project settings”…is that all of the templates I should see?

Quick question- could the installation of 17 turn off Quik time on 12 also?
I ask because in later testing I noticed the issue was happening with 12 also now.
A BH Photo computer tech and I deduced it to the new GPU I just installed and last night I requested an RMA and put the old card back in so I’ll need to put the new card back in to test Bill’s suggestion. As I mentioned earlier my grandkids are flying in today so it might be a day or 2 before I can try it but I sure hope he’s right…it would make things much easier!

Thanks so much, I will do that and report back within a couple of days (grandkids and daughter flying in tomorrow).
That said, I think you’ve discovered the issue as I pulled out the new GPU earlier and put the old one back in (trying to resolve my render time issue in another thread) and got the same error.

Maybe if you uninstall Quicktime it may work… Let us know what happens.
Do you mean uninstall and reinstall or just uninstall?
Thanks very much,

I just re-opened the project and it appears it is only the mov files it won’t load.
Also I tried to drag mov files onto a blank timeline and that doesn’t work either.
