  • Hi,

You have probably found a solution by now. I ended up purchaseing MXF 4 Mac and installing it on FCP7. We married the DVCPRO HD file from the AVID with PCM broadcast wav files from Protools in FCP7 and then exported using the MXF 4 Mac plugin. A bit of a pain in the ass but it worked.

Thank you VERY MUCH. I don’t use FCP very often but need to for digital delivery of a series I’m working on. I was getting a little frustrated as the track assignment was eluding me. SAVED MY ASS is the best way of describing your tutorial.

ALL IS WELL! I removed everything to do with AVID, including all my plugins and started from scratch. Seemed to do the trick. Thanks again for your help, probably should have tried that to begin with.

Actually in the middle of an email conversation with Avid right now. I was not able to start MC with the mojo attached. Seems to be related to the other problem. I have uninstalled MC and will delete Boris off the system as well and start from scratch.

Thanks again, I’ll keep you posted.

    Mathew,

Wow, I really appreciate all the time you are putting in on this. I will do a “full work up” based on your questions tomorrow. I will need to copy some media over from my other Avid which is still running version 3.13 software. My current version is version 4.02. What I might try is to grab a sequence from the other machine with some boris plugins already in the time line and see what that does. I’ll get back to you tomorrow.

    Thanks again

Actually I haven’t had the mojo hooked up since I installed v4.
    Any other suggestions?

    Hey Mathew.

First off. Thanks for helping me out with this. I have a query into Boris as well but they aren’t so “Johnny on the spot” geting back.

The error is a pop up.
This system was running V3.12 with Borris 5 np. It was a bundled version that came with the V3.05 upgrade.

I’m currently running this on a MacBook Pro dual core intel@ 2.6ghz w 4gigs or ram and an SDI Mojo.

My other plugins, Moving Picture and Magic Bullet don’t seem to be effected.

Yes I used the easy set up, but, this show is a bit of a cluster !@#$%! because there are multiple source compression scemes. The main src is XDCAM ex3 shot at 23.98 as well as DVCPro50 shot at 29.97 and DVCam shot at 29.97, so I wondering if the mixed media is causing the missmatch issues and I need to mix down the video tracks into a new sequence for output?

    Thoughts?

What ,in your opinion, is the best HD setting for mastering a 23.98 project? And when you say you let the Aja device do the conversion is that using the secondary output and not changing the PB settings of the project?
