You’re running VP12, that should work. I’m running VP14/15. As you’re on 4.0, it’s required by Vegas Pro 14/15 for a couple of things. I’ve had too, could be the same for you as well? You had VP12 running on pre WIN10, maybe updating .NET would help?* Grazie

Do a Digital Intermediate(DI) to something that will work. I do SONY MXFs and allow the MPEG2 to be taken from that. MP4 to MPEG2? Can be bothersome. Get your work done and move on.

Vegas15 now has User definable Button Sets. Could be you haven’t activated them. But why it’s defaulted to MUTE, I’m lost for words ????!

Over time this M$ “catch” has hobbled many of us. It’s my gleaning of anecdotal evidence that points towards even an incremental update – our friend here has .NET 4 – maybe or just isn’t enough. The example here is of a Vegas User who is “content” to employ this workaround just so he’s able to go full screen with the Internal Preview. You and I know the value of utilising an external monitor. It’s a pity that this “creative” workaround is being employed for just a large Preview. I couldn’t cope without my external Q&A monitoring.
OK, the experience of other users surely points towards a crucial and urgent WARNING by MAGIX to have a pre-install audit purposefully pointing out to the person installing that the .NET Framework is EITHER, reassuringly, up to date OR that the present .NET Framework is Version X.XX and needs to be updated. I say this because I’ve only clumsily stumbled on this as a result of another 3rd Party software informing me that my then .NET Framework was needing to be updated, for their s/w to work.
This has caught so many people out that I feel some official MAGIX warning/suggestion, at the point of installation, would not be an unreasonable suggestion/request.

I don’t remember seeing it, but was it John Meyers DVD chart? I’ve had a trawl of the Vegas forums and can’t find it. I’ve been using Marks Bitrate calculator which is real-time calculator that’s held me in good stead over the years.

Having used VP for fifteen years I’ve giving up and now use the mighty NewBlue TitlerProUltimate. Once you’ve examined just what NBTPUli can do, you’ll have further creative ideas to give your crafted video that extra pro look. And yes, you can change multiple settings at one throw.
