January 22, 2010 at 5:19 am in reply to: Visual levels are different between rendered and previewMike was the MAN that put me onto the JVC, years ago now, and I too use this as my DATUM for all things video. I have a 40″ SONY Bravia to which I play and QA my output via DVD and HDMI, and it looks the biz. But all, ALL has been previously sheep-dipped via my JVC. I can then tell and stubbornly dig my heels in when any client wants to discuss/argue colour ways and temperatures. Likewise, I can beat myself up with what does and doesn’t look good, but at the end of the day the JVC just sits there and doesn’t take any notice of my “creative” tantrums.
What is worth knowing is that this same JVC box is still being sold – this TM-H150C. Now there just HAS to be a reason for that – yes?

Simplest, as you’ve got to this point now: Right click on Audio Event and select “Apply Non-Real-Time Event FX . . ” and choose, SONY “Pitch Shift”. Remember any background noise or interruptions will also be . . er .. shifted too!
Good luck!

I tried placing a Deflector, but it does not have any effect on the December “Flames” particles.
Is there a generic Tutorial for Deflectors/Blockers?

Alan! You have surpassed yourself! Excellent work.
Those Blue and Orangy flames, blended together are amazing!
Thank you,

Here are 2 ways:-
1] Using Glint Control Keyframes
Make sure Sync Cursor is engaged in the Glint FX Control.Move the Glint FX Keyframe Cursor to the point where you want to fade out the effect and in the “Effect” Tab move threshold way over to “100”. That should kill it for you.
. . OR . . .
2] Using Events Splits
Split the Event where you want to FADE the Glint Fx. You should now have EventA and EventB. Go to the FX control for EventB and delete the Glint Fx. Pull/OverLap the EventB onto EventA. I just did it and it works fine. No sudden change, just a smooth transition.Grazie

You aren’t the first person to have gotten into the “Subbie-Render” task request.
It would be real neat if SCS(Sony Creative Software) could get to recognise that we like using Subbies and consequently wish to render them – “as is”. Until somebody contradicts me, Subbies can not be rendered as a batch process, unlike Regions, which can. Sure, I can/could/have used the SONY Batch Render Regions Script. I have Ultimate S Pro4 and there I can do all many of things once the Events are Regions or have Markers. Same goes for Excalibur. But getting Subbies to be recognised as an entity then to be Rendered? Nope.
OK, will this do yer?
For using existing VP9 tools:
1] Make a COPY of your existing Project veg
2] Delete ALL Tracks
3] Select Subbies from Project Media using the “SEARCH Media Bins ” tool and use the word “Sub”.
4] Convert “Search” to a BIN
5] Go to New Bin and drag Subbies to Timeline
6] Now convert ALL subbies on timeline to Regions – Click Event(sub) Hit R – next Event Hit R . . . . and so on
. .and after ALL this use the SONY
7] Batch Render Script and select Regions
You will now have rendered Subbies.
And yes, some of this process is made less painful using UliSPRo4 (marvellous!) or Excalibur or some free scripts that do some of the converting of Events to Regions, but fundamentally, it would be neat if SCS would allow Subbies to be part of the Region Family? Your question here, once again flags up what the User wants determined.
I just looked at VASST’s Production Assistant and, although packed full of tools, I can’t readily see that which you are wanting to achieve. But I am more than ready to be put right on that too?
BTW1, I also did a cursory search on the main SONY Vegas site for render subbies, and that was bleak and only came back me with the need to firstly convert to Regions.
BTW2, I have Excalibur and Ultimate S Pro4 and Production Assistant. If Render Subclips is part of these Tools I know I will be put right!

You’re ALSO missing your vertically scroll controls too.
Try disengaging XP Theme Support and then re-engaging? You’ll need to close Vegas after each change.

And again, really need to see just how “bad” the exposure is, otherwise everybody could be wasting their time, and, most importantly the OP.

Well it depends just how overexposed the face is? – If it is clipped then nothing can be done. It will depend on the amount. Can you post a Still here so I can have a look.
And to answer your question about the options, yes, all of those functions I use to pull in exposure.
Lesson learnt here: Expose for the brights in digital, and the darks we can mostly play with. If anything I slightly underexpose my video work, and, if need be, boost in post.
