    Hmmmm. . .

1] Just how much do you wish to remove? Less is More. Sometimes one doesn’t need to remove too much to be acceptable. Really think hard about this.

2] Is the piece got the speaker within the frame? You don’t say. If not then v/o could be a way out.

3] the major issue here will be that the noises will have some overlapping freqs & characteristics too similar to the voice that you’re gonna get unfortunate audio artefacts that are really gonna annoy you!

So, you are going to need to be a tad pragmatic about just how much removal you are going to feel is successful. But I’m guessing you knew this?

Having spent not a little time out in the open videoing, I now have a range of furry friends and a Blimp to filter out the wind.

John, I didn\\\’t realise that bit about Uli & PA. This is most excellent features/news indeed. I\\\’m using and exploring both of your products more and more on new projects.

Any chance you would consider doing a \”and this is what you can do in . . .\” training-vid?

John – would it be valuable, sensible to cut in converted, proxy files and then swap back at finish? Any value in doing this? – I’ve always wanted to ask this.

But but but . . and reading between your lines, maybe if I knew exactly what it is you are wanting to do there may actually be a better way of introducing Text into VEgas. Maybe?

I just set up a Keyboard Command to do exactly that.

You need to access the Customise Keyboard function and then navigate to the COMMAND called Insert.GenratedMedia.TextMedia and apply your own CTRL+ command – I just used Ctrl+I,I :

Options | Customize Keyboard | Global | and in “Show Commands containing” – I used INSERT and then scrolled down to: Insert.GenratedMedia.TextMedia : and then punched in my own Keyboard Command: Ctrl+I,I – you can choose what you want, but you have to start with the Ctrl key.

Once done, and back at the Selected Track and with the Cursor at the place wanting to have the Text, punch in:-

Ctrl+I+I (leaving out the PLUS signs!!) or just hit YOUR combination and I get the Standard Sony Text Menu ready and waiting to be edited at the point where the Cursor is placed! – Done!

If it is about loosing work, Edward Troxel has an autosave script/extension that has saved my rear-end on numerous occasions.
