OK, dead easy this. There are at least 2 options I use:
1] On Import set Still duration in Preferences.
OR . . as they are now ON the T/L
2] Select all the Stills that are in sequence, next to each other, hit “G” for Group, then hold down the Ctrl Key, go to the Front or End of the Group of Stills and drag the Front towards the End or the End towards the Front. You are now squashing the Group duration down to what you want.

Paul, JPEGS are stills. What or how are you applying movement that would then be affect by a Velocity Envelope?

You have plenty of space. You have used the same Media in previous builds of VP11 – yes?
So, you’ve recently installed VP11 Build701. What was the previous build? Or is this your first VP11?
Did you uninstall the previous build or do an install-over?

If I’ve understood you well enough, here’s an idea.
1] Right Click on the Event on the Timeline you “prefer” and choose “Select in Project Media List“.
3] Vegas Navigates to the Media in PM
4] Select the NEW Media and RIGHT Click Drag to the OLD Event on the T/L you want to replace.
5] When you Release the button you have the Option to “Add as Take” – take it!
You will now have “replaced” the existing Event with the one you preferred. You also have the option to hit “T” and compare to OLD and then now the NEW – Take.
Pros – You Get Takes!
Cons – It wont bring any Event-based FX-ing with it. You’d need to Copy and Paste Attributes as an additional task.
When you get busy with the Trimmer, I use the same: Getting Takes from the Trimmer can be truly liberating. Because what you are doing is auditioning creative cuts/edits on the fly and preserving them as a Take to be recalled so you can compare.

My experience is that when I get a creeping-up of an issue it may NOT be to do with anything you’ve done to change Vegas.
We need to look further first and then come back to Vegas.
But first things first – yeah?
What Build of VP11 32 or 64 you’re seeing this in?
What happens if you play “other” Media? You said, but what were they? Getting the issue may just confirm this “creeping-up” issue.
Does your Project Settings Match your Media?
How much space have got on your System drive or Media drive/s?

What do you like/prefer in my results? What can you see as a difference? What do you call a TV look?

Well, there’s plenty to use there. Apart from the slightly blown shirt, middle distance, you’ve got some great blues – sky – and greens – the trees – to assist you to bring out to make layers. The skin tones also add to the look. Also the stone work has come through nicely. I’m not sure what TV look you want, but I’ve got your layers into creating a bit more narrative.
Really enjoyed doing this. Thanks for the opportunity.

Oh yes . . .
1] Growing Spider Webs growing;
2] Anything Grungie: Rust growing; Degrading tissue; paper wrinkling and going yellow;
3] Currencies/Coins/Notes tumbling
4] Musical notes falling in space
5] Bacterial phages growing
6] I’ve been asked for this, and made it in Vegas, but Airport, Train Arrival/Departure Time Fields
7] Tumble weed ( I think we/you have this?) and anything which is organic and moving. Blood cells moving along arteries.
8] Lace and billowy fabrics (that’s for my more feminine side)
9] Screws, Washers, Nuts and Bolts
10] More definable/apparent DUST and CLOUD
11] “Strings” of flashing lights (yes, and ON wires) I can drape over Text and generally Glitz-up dull stuff.
12] Electric Switches that flash on and off.
Any more? That should keep you busy . . . .

What an excellent question Raf.
I’m guessing you’re looking at your footage and thinking – ” Neah, it’s flat, dull and lacking in – WOW!” Or something along those lines?
Tell you what, you post a single frame example of what you feel is “wrong”, say why, and I’ll see what I could do with it? Deal?
