Basically, HDMI is the latest way to deal with Digital INputs or OUTputs. VGA does not – it’s analogue. So whatever you get from your VGA OUTput needs to be converted to Digital to go in to a Digital INput – here that’s your HDMI INput on your TV.

Oh and another thing, don’t bother spending heaps on Gold-Plated Digital HDMI sockets – it’s digital, 1 and 0 – Ones and Noughts.

We’re getting a lot of this type of issue.

I had this and needed to activate the Legacy Driver for the FireWire port. After I did this I could get Vegas VidCap see my miniDV tape drive. Chances are you have the same issue.

Having said that, just responded that was the result of a bad Camera FireWire out port?!?

Lets see if the easier Legacy driver is the issue first.

Wrong!

I’ve been using AVI containers for 12 years in Vegas. It’s what INSIDE the AVI container you’ve got to determine.

The INTERNET is a great portal for “information”. However, you get incorrectly recieved-wisdom too. Do NOT install any further CODEC packs – STOP!

If you are really really stuck, and you know you can render from VP11, what I do is render to a Lossless Format, Lagarith, import THAT file into – here that would be VP11 – and render out to the MC.
