After much evidenced-based result collation, driven by wishing to reduce the SIGNAL : NOISE ratio from my PC, I’ve employed an external USB driven PreSonus AudioBox. This gets me clear away from any internal EMF hums and farts. I then plug my analogue 3mm (converted to 1/4 jack) Stereo Sennhieser MD207s into the PreSonus. Resulting from a previous -30db Noise Floor I’ve been able to reduce this to -75db NF. I can live with this.

So, to answer your question, it’s more about OUTCOME (quality) rather than FUNCTION (“Can I plug this with that?”). All of the above has taken me years to understand and even now I can aggravate myself over the lowest sound, but I feel I’ve won some audio-spurs along the way. Dropping from a noisy -30db NF down to -75db NF works for me and this was the result from getting an external USB driven AudioBox.

Well, I’ve not used the M$ Surface but I’ve now been using the A$$LE IPad Air2 for nearly two years, and, coming from PC-land, I was never going to have anything other than my iPhone (still iPhone 4), I’ve been stunned and somewhat convinced of the ease and subtlety of the device. Often I’d do photo and other graphics work, make and edit small range movies on it as well as all this communications Forum work plus a multiplicity of other work. I can take this and all my work to show clients.

Paul, all I’m saying is just think on. There’s another way!

This sounds very familiar.

This is what I got previously from Caleb:

“If you have any trouble opening TP5 after updating, remember to delete OFXBridgeB64.dll from C:\Program Files\NewBlueFX\Common.”

You could try that, I didn’t delete I temporarily renamed it.

The other thing I did was to update/rebuild Microsoft’s .NET Framework.

Sure, there is stuff to angst-over. But, the list of User uses is stunningly productive. One that is a small thing but just now I swept through my ideas truly at a Grazie-pace, is the FREEZE FRAME. It’s has been cunningly put together that you can feel the presents of past Users’ comment being made real.

Yeah, something is choking Vegas from doing the maths.

Contrast and compare the Timeline functions you’re asking VP to do between the good burn and the failed burn. There will be a reason. Would you consider doing DI files to get you over hump? Try DI-ing sections of the failed burns.

Is it possible your storage is failing? I don’t have a RAID setup like yours. Nor do I have SSDs and nor do I use BD prep and burn. However, there is some choking going on and this hits everyone trying any form of burning workflow.

Complexity of project and FXs; Media misfits and then render templates all add to bumps in the road.
