My Film Effects package comes with de-interlacers that will do practically every kind of de-interlace, such as blending fields. Or try the FCP de-interlace with “Flicker Filter (max)”

Well, so far el cheapo JVC lens doesn’t look good, and neither does the built in Sony lens. What can be said other than they both look bad, especially in terms of chromatic aberations. Next we’ve got the new Canon and Panasonic to compare…. Should be interesting….

That’s a rather blanket statement about lenses that I don’t think holds up, especially with the issues with the stock lens on the JVC. Not that the fixed lens on the Sony looks that much better.

That’s not correct.
29.97fps capture is correct, but you can remove pulldown on normal 24p by using cinema tools. Compressor will not help you here. The only thing to do is hope that the auto-cadence detect in CT works….
